What a beautiful mistake, to fall in love.

Hey, Siobhan… why love songs today?

Why, you ask?  Because I write romance.  I want sweet nothings whispered in the dark and happy endings and all the things that make hopeless romantics smile.  I want that slice of time where I can feel like I am adored.

And in music, I can find that.

Friday Top Five: Epic Songs

What makes a song Epic?

The ability of that song to stop you in your tracks and turn.  The growing pulse of emotion you feel as it begins with a quiet line and crescendos into a tumultuous climax that leaves you both drained and sated.  It can have a story, but doesn’t always.  The important part is that inside you, it shifts something significant.

Friday Top Five: Favorite Songs

Morning, y’all.

I tend to talk a lot about music… obviously.  So after watching that silly-ass movie High Fidelity again, I’ve decided that I’m – yet again – going to warp their little game.  I pulled this on my friends one time before, and I’m not sure they’ve forgiven me for it.

So, here’s how it works:  Every Friday, I will post a list of my top five songs in a particular category, with links.  Anyone who wants to play along can either take the topic and post it on their own blog (and leave me a link!), OR post their top five in the comments.

FAVORITE SONGS

These are songs that I will always listen to, whenever they come up on the radio or my iPod.  Each one has real meaning to me, though I might not always be able to explain why.
