SSS – Picture Perfect (Week 2)

Back again – we’re really getting the hang of this, aren’t we?

This week we’re back with Anna and Wes, and it’s getting a bit steamy in here.  Again.  Right now Wes is trying not to think about their one-night-stand.

~+~+~+~

THE SIX:

He never should have touched her, especially there.  Anna paused, her slight intake of breath enough to tell him that she felt it too.  Suddenly his other procurement from the tack room weighed heavily in his pocket, and he wished he hadn’t remembered the secret stash he and Deb had kept in there.

He didn’t want to think about Deb right now.  In fact, he didn’t want to think at all.  He wanted to feel – to touch and be touched, to kiss, and to do far more than that.

SSS – The Return

I told y’all I’m on a roll… Tuesday Tales two weeks in a row, WDD, and now SSS!  *throws confetti* Now, let me introduce you to Anna and her cowboy, Wes, and their one-night-stand in progress (from a WIP with the working title Picture Perfect):

DISCLAIMER:

This one is getting naughty.  Be warned.

THE SIX:

In answer to her silent plea, Wes slid off the edge of the bed to kneel at her knees.  His fingers – clumsy now – found the zipper on her skirt and yanked it down, then ripped away her skirt and underwear in one sweep.  A small rush of self-consciousness flooded Anna’s senses as she lay in front of him, naked save the high-heeled sandals still strapped to her feet.  What stopped her from curling in on herself and hiding was the look of wild hunger on his face.  His eyes traveled the length of her body several times before settling between her legs and the neatly-trimmed patch of hair hovering just above her sex.

Yeah…this was definitely going to happen.

SSS #6 – Untitled (Again-Again)

Week three of the same story.  Enjoy another random bit of the continuing saga between Sadie and Markus.

The Six:

“So,” she said as she climbed out of the car and shrugged into her coat, “what’s the plan?”

Markus came around the car to meet her, carefully watching the trees beyond the parking lot and listening for the tiny sounds of nature beneath the dull roar of the water.  He draped his arm across her shoulders and pulled her into his side as he steered her toward the overlook.  Aside from the water and his own heartbeat echoing in his ears, the world around them was still and silent.

“We play dumb.”

Sadie snorted.  “Easier said than done.”

SSS #5 – Untitled (Again)

Back again with the same (still untitled) story as last week…only a little farther ahead.  I figure doing it this way will keep me motivated to finish it.

The Six:

Sadie and Markus stood side by side in the silent, empty house, listening to the sounds of their allies’ departure.  A new heaviness fell over Markus’ heart as the reality of their situation sank in.  They were alone again.  The hunters drew closer with each breath.  Right now, there were no guarantees of safety, no promises; no tomorrows.

Without second thought, Markus pulled Sadie against him and kissed her.

SSS #4 – Untitled

Back from the grave!  After a long stint away from the SSS game, I’m finally back with yet another work in progress, this one dealing with shape-shifters, pack politics, and romance.  And maybe some smut. 🙂

The Six:

Markus bent to scoop up the corpse of her coffee mug when one of the holes ripped straight down the inseam, allowing her a clear view of the impressive secrets underneath the fabric.  Sure, she had seen him naked more than once… but something about this new angle and the domesticity around it made her shiver.  Naturally, Markus caught her staring when he looked back over his shoulder at her.  Again, he grinned.

“Like what you see?”

Sadie rolled her eyes.

SSS #3: Bewitched

This week’s selection comes from a new WIP with the working title of “Bewitched”, in which we play with the life of an unfortunate witch, a changeling, and some other fun critters.

The Six:

The first morning Seraphine woke with the power to alter others’ lives was the first morning she wished to be back in her father’s manor, tucked safely in her bed.  Instead, she woke with a deep ache in the lower part of her spine and a rattle in her lungs.  the face in the mirror was hers, yet so drastically altered that she scarcely recognized herself.  At seventeen years old, she had become an old woman.  The promise of immortality and great power had been so tempting;  tempting enough that she chose not to think of the consequences before she pricked her finger and signed that proverbial contract in blood.

SSS #2 – Something in the Air

Morning, y’all.  Bright and early, here I am with my six(ish) sentences for the week.  I think it’s actually seven, but I couldn’t resist.  This week’s selection comes from my upcoming book, Something in the Air, due out Valentine’s Day 2012 through Rebel Ink Press.

My Six:

“Nic?” she whispered, her voice little more than a breath.

“Hmm?” he hummed against her throat, lifting her higher so that he could kiss his way along the neckline of her dress.

“Does this feel a little…incestuous…to you?”

Nic groaned.  “Definitely.”   He leaned against her, grinding his hips against hers and making her whimper again.  “Just makes it so much better,” he added, and his eyes rolled back in his head as he thrust his tongue between her lips, a promise of what was to come that had her shivering in his arms.

The Blurb:

Kelly Ray Patrick is a sweet, southern girl who has never been lucky, either in finances or in love.  But as the recent co-recipient of a lottery jackpot, she and her friends have set out on a Valentines-themed singles cruise in the hope of relaxing and meeting Mr. Right.  Only, to Kelly Ray’s surprise, Mr. Right appears to be her best friend, Dominic James.  Nic also appears to be feeling the effects of the trip, and has discovered an interest in Kelly Ray as well.  The only thing stopping them:  their friend, Trevor, who has been carrying a torch for Kelly Ray since they were all kids.  Will respect for that friendship be enough to stem the budding relationship, or will they throw caution to the wind and indulge in their desires?
